Passive Smoke
When you smoke 15% of the smoke is inhaled by you and the rest 85% goes into the air and it is known as second hand smoke or passive smoke. Passive smoke is a combination of the smoke you inhale out and the smoke from the cigarette between the puffs. The smoke that comes from the cigarette in between the puffs is a far dangerous smoke as it contains more tar, nicotine, Carbon Monoxide and thousands of other poisonous killer chemicals. All of this smoke contains cancer causing chemicals.
People exposed to passive smoke may feel nausea, dizziness and headaches. Risk to Pregnant women and growing children is far greater. The risk of cot death is greatly increased in children who have been exposed to smoke during pregnancy or at home.
Long term consequences are more serious. Passive smoking contributes to the development of lung cancer & other heart diseases. Passive smoking kills 3000 people each year from lung cancer. It fills the air with many of the poisons found in toxic waste dumps.
So next time when your friend lights up his smoke in front of you let him know the dangers of passive smoking. If you smoke and you want to keep your health and your environment neat and clean then opt for quitting smoking or taking an alternative such as the E-Cigarette.
